In Memory of Jimbo (Jim Wesley Hope)
A raincheck on riding together is worthless, but the offer is priceless.

Benefit for Jimbo's Family (photos 11/27/04) $8k+ was raised! Thanks to all that made it out!

I could wail and lament the loss of Jimbo here, but that would be against the spirit of Jimbo. The spirit that is, above all things, generous, funloving, altruistic... the list could go on and on.... but the photos I offer here show that spirit. Honestly, some of the pics I'm putting up are poor quality of focus or composure, but they've got Jimbo so I'm putting them in anyway. I also have quite a few pics of his nighttrain here; photos he requested. He was so damned proud of that bike, I tried to match the color of this page to the color of his bike.

But first, I gotta tell you a story and I'll make it short. Jimbo and I did a little hangin' out around biker events and H.O.G. meetings, other than that we just did the occasional email. Work and life schedules permitted little else. His first email to me was unsigned, I didn't know who it was from, but it was a photo I've put in here of me, Tina and Revar. A photo he snuck, we didn't know he took. I was wondering for weeks who it was before he chalked up to it. That was pretty good. I love it when someone pulls a good one on me.

Additionally, he never told me his mother is a nurse. Had he done so, we would have discovered that she is a dear friend of mine from years ago (we worked together in ICU). I was out of pocket and out of the loop on his accident and death. Carolyn, his mother, found out about me later on and we did some catching up and I'll be a lot better about staying in touch and keeping my contact info up to date.

As I've said, the world is diminished without Jimbo, but is a better place since God blessed us with him for a time. I should mention that they did find this website and get photos printed off of here for the funeral. That assuages somewhat the regret I feel in missing the services. Here is a copy of his obituary, the photos follow....
